CSi Announces Integrated Support
for MicroScribe® Digitizers
Innovative Integration Provides Snap Inferencing
Fort Worth, TX November 18, 2004CSi today announced plans for their next major release of Concepts Unlimited to support Immersion Corporations MicroScribe 3D input device. Concepts Unlimited is a 3D conceptual design tool that targets professional design communities on Mac OS X and PC who need fast, flexible, and intuitive tools for turning ideas into precise digital models.
Immersions MicroScribe G2 Digitizer
The MicroScribe G2 system is an input device that allows users to convert physical objects into 3D digital designs. It is a precise articulated digitizing arm with a pen-like stylus that supports 5 or 6 degrees of freedom and captures 3D data points from physical objects.
Innovative Integration
CSIs novel integration processes raw 3D data from the MicroScribe device through a series of user controlled snap inference filters. As you trace over your object, feedback is dynamically displayed to the user for endpoints, midpoints, centers, tangents, and alignments. The 3D snap inferencing ensures geometry created with the MicroScribe system is precisely aligned relative to neighboring geometry. Additional support of toolbar and mouse commands directly from the MicroScribe minimize the users task of swapping between input devices and makes for a faster digitizing experience.
Work in Progress Preview at Apple Expo UK Patrick Thorn & Co., an Immersion Corporation UK MicroScribe Authorized Reseller, and CS UK will be demonstrating a work in progress version of Concepts Unlimited and the MicroScribe device at booth 125 at the Mac Expo UK show Nov 18-20. For information regarding availability, trial versions, and other information please visit www.csi-concepts.com or contact CSI at info@csi-concepts.com.
Working with CSI on the development, Patrick Thorn said: This has the makings of a really intuitive digitizing solution for both Mac and PC. Concepts smart 3D snapping allows you to make clean geometric connections and the ability to keep your hands on the work instead of switching back and forth to the mouse. Its a great industrial design application on Mac OS X providing precise MicroScribe device support at no extra cost to the main software package.
